[Beau of the Fifth Column] Let's talk about another statue being removed....


I am Southern. White. Male.

That means generally little, but considering the stereotypes I figure it might help.


For that matter so's Beau and dude is far better educated and doing a decent bit for trying to balance scales that have long been tipped unfairly.


The sooner we stop lionizing these people who firmly stood for seperation, segregation, and degredation as nessicary to preserve their own view of the way thigns should be. The better.


I hope this statue is put in a museum along with every other statue of segregationists put up as reaction to th rights of non-whites with an explaination of when it was put up by whom and WHY.


Anyone whobrowses this hypothetical article will doubtlessly see a common thread.


Those who were so afraid to lose thier power, prestige, and privilage barring people from ever hoping to match them.


People like this show that for all the talk of equality. They know in their hearts they are mediocre at best and so must strip rights away to keep what they were given.
